Bus ticket price cut by more than 50% on ‘Black Friday’

First Manchester has announced a special ‘Black Friday’ bargain-priced bus ticket on one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

As hundreds of retailers across the UK prepare to slash prices as part of shopping bonanza this Friday 27 November, First Manchester has announced a massive price cut of more than 50% on the popular adult day ticket.

Available via the popular mobile ticketing App, the Greater Manchester FirstDay Adult ticket will be available for only £2 compared to the normal price of £4.20. The discounted price is available for travel on Friday 27 November although customers can purchase the ticket in advance via the First Bus mTicket App.

The mTicket App is easy to use and is available for free via the App Store and Google Play. Customers simply download the app, register, select from a variety of tickets and navigate the secure payment system. Once the payment section is complete, bus tickets live in a virtual wallet ready for the customer to show the driver. Repeat users need only select the required ticket and confirm their debit/credit card’s security code.

This latest move by First Manchester follows the latest customer research results from Transport Focus which showed a 31% improvement in value for money amongst First bus users. The improvements in customer service and value for money have been part of a series of improvements for customers which has seen the introduction of free Wi-Fi and Real Time Passenger Information.

Ian Humphreys, Head of Commercial for First in Greater Manchester added, “We’re delighted to join the buzz around the ‘Black Friday’ discount promotion and offer our customers a fantastic bus ticket offer. We want to encourage more people to use buses and enjoy the convenient and value for money service that we provide across Greater Manchester.”
