Following the aftermath of last night’s fire at Monks Hall on Wellington Road, Eccles, SalfordOnline.com visited the site early this morning and took photographs of the damage caused by the blaze.
Fire crews from Eccles were in attendance overnight, damping down the building to prevent further structural damage and are expected to stay throughout the day.
Members from Salford Council and the land owner, Mark Hammond met at the site yesterday at 8pm to quickly survey the damage.
A further meeting is planned for today, Thursday 21 April when a Dangerous Building Inspector will once again carry out a more detailed of the building.
The damage seems to be mainly at the rear of the building but the roof on one of the outbuildings has collapsed completely and looks as if it will need to be pulled down.
