Police appeal as Good Samaritan glassed in Printworks fight

Police are looking to speak to two men after a man who tried to stop a fight was glassed in the face.

At 12.37am on Sunday 8 May, a man was out with a group of friends in the Walkabout bar in Manchester’s Printworks complex, when two of the women he was with were approached by two men and an argument broke out.

The man stepped in to try and defuse the argument but he was assaulted by the two men.

At some point during the attack, the man was struck with a glass causing injury.

The man was taken to a safe room by nightclub staff before he was escorted to hospital with glass wounds and required stitches.

Detective Sergeant Mark Astbury said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a man who was simply enjoying a night out with his friends.

“Fortunately, the man has not been too badly injured but this could’ve been far more serious.

“We are keen to speak to the two men from the CCTV or anyone who was in Walkabout in the early hours of Sunday who may be able to assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
