Police warning after bogus official targets elderly people in Swinton


Police are warning eldery people to be on the alert after a bogus official targeted residents of a communal flat block in Swinton on Thursday, 19 May.

The offender has posed as an electricity board worker stating he needs access to the flats to carry out checks. Unfortunately the trustworthy residents aged 96, 92 & 84 have allowed him entry and he has stolen personal possessions and money.

Offender is described as a – White male, 5”9, 30-50yrs, large build, clean shaven wearing plain black work wear and an English accent.

Please ask for I.D. and telephone the company to verify details.

If you are in any doubt do not let them in.
