23-year-old stabbed multiple times on Citrus Way in Salford


Police have launched an investigation after a man was found with a number of stab wounds on a street in Salford last night.

Officers cordoned off Citrus Way, off Churchhill Way in Pendleton at around 11.30pm on Thursday 23 June.

They found a 23-year-old man with a series of stab wounds to the body.

He received emergency treatment before being rushed to hospital.

He remains in a stable condition, police said.

His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.

Detectives are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Nearby Mango Place was also taped off while Crime Scene Investigators swept the streets for clues.

No-one has been arrested in the wake of the violent incident but police enquiries are ongoing.

One passerby snapped a shot of police still on scene this morning on her way to work.

Four days ago a 20-year-old man was found stabbed on nearby Cavell Way in Pendleton in as-yet unknown circumstances.

That’s around 300 metres from the site of this latest stabbing.

Officers have not linked last night’s attack to any other violence in the area.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 2777 23/06/16 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
