A second-half comeback from Salford Red Devils was not enough as Hull KR survived a late scare to win at the KC Lightstream Stadium.
Even Adrian Morley in his 550th career appearance could not inspire the Reds to a last-gasp victory.
Salford’s double-barrelled duo Ben Jones-Bishop and Mason Caton-Brown gave it both guns with two scores to put Salford 10-8 up at the break.
But three unanswered tries from Dane Tisle, Kris Welham and Maurice Blair saw the Robins leap to a 26-10 lead.
Jordan Walne forced his way over the line before Scott Taylor angled his way into a gap to score, and Jones-Bishop’s second drew Salford level at 28-28.
A simple lack of concentration (or luck) saw Salford watch the ball bounce twice from the KR restart straight into Albert Kelly’s hands, who sped past Salford’s static line to score the winner.
The result moves Hull KR into the hallowed Super League top eight.
Salford however record their 12th loss of the campaign to fall to second bottom.
