A man was stabbed in Lower Broughton, Salford.
At 12pm on Saturday 8 August 2015, the 40-year-old man was working behind the counter of a burger van on Bury New Road, near to Manchester Car Refurbishments, when a man got out of a car.
He asked for a drink before seemingly returning to his car for payment.
When he came back, the man attempted to stab the victim but missed. He then went inside the van and stabbed him in the thigh before getting into the car and driving off.
The man is described as being white, in his early 20s, of stocky build, around 5ft 8in tall, had fair eyebrows with black NHS style reading glasses which looked out of place. He had a round face and was clean shaven. He was wearing a black tracksuit with a white t-shirt, black and white TNS trainers, a black fisherman`s hat with a small peak and spoke with a local accent.
Detective Constable Andy Quinn said: “We have launched an investigation and believe this was a targeted attack. Thankfully the victim’s injury is not as serious as it could have been and he is currently in hospital in a stable condition.
“We believe the offender was with a second man who was driving the car and I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident to call police as soon as possible.”
