Little Hulton shooting: Thornfield Grove house blasted while young family inside


Police are investigating after shots were fired at a house in Little Hulton, Salford.

An unknown gunman blasted a house  on Thornfield Grove with what is belived to be a handgun just after midnight on Wednesday 12 August.

There are no reports of any injuries, but a first-floor window was broken in the shooting.

A woman and child are believed to have been inside the house at the time.

Officers swarmed to the small cul-de-sac at around 12.10am last night. No arrests have yet been made but patrols have been stepped up in the local area.

Police have not yet linked the incident to any other recent shootings in Clifton, Little Hulton or Salford.

It has not been linked to the murder of Paul Massey.

In a statement today, Greater Manchester Police said: “Police are investigating after a suspected firearms discharge in Salford.

“Shortly after 12.10am on Wednesday, police were called to Thornfield Grove, Little Hulton, to reports that shots had been fired. Officers attended and found damage to a house believed to be consistent with that of a firearms discharge.

“Nobody was hurt during the incident and enquiries are ongoing.”
