A former training centre for young people in Salford has been sold for £650,000 to a buy-to-let property developer.
The Salford Skills Centre on Liverpool Street, which has been out of use and vacant since the mid-2000s, has been sold by Salford City Council to KKI Land Ltd, a subsidiary of Knight Knox International.
Knight Knox recently revealed £75 million plans to build 580 properties over 450,000 sq ft at ‘Adelphi Wharf’, a new residential development off the A6 Chapel Street in Salford.

The 5,800 sq ft centre on a 0.5-acre plot at the corner of Liverpool Street and Oldfield Road, is adjacent to the huge 23-acre Middlewood Locks, a vacant piece off land which is currently being developed by Scarborough Development Group.
The building itself is ripe for demolition, with a dated interior and the lowest possible rating for energy efficiency.
KKI will have a leasehold interest in the property at £1 per annum, and will get an exclusivity period of three months for any planning proposals.
Up to 100 flats are thought to be on the cards at the new development.
The deal comes in the same week that Salford City Council sold the former Salford Coroner’s Courts at Pendleton House for £550,000.
