Police have released CCTV images after a man was robbed in Manchester city centre in the middle of the afternoon.
On Monday 17 August at about 3.15pm police were called to reports a man had stolen a bag that contained cash from a pub on Corporation Street in the city centre.
The man, who is described as white, in his 40s, around 6ft 1in to 6ft 2in, with green eyes and a large nose, held a knife to the victim and threatened him until the bag was handed over.
The man also had a Liverpool accent and was wearing light blue jeans, white trainers, a black bomber jacket and black bobble hat.
After the robbery the man headed towards St Mary’s Gate where officers think he got into a taxi/black cab.
Police are appealing for witnesses and information.
Detective constable Louise Kelly for the North Manchester Division said “Whilst the victim was not injured he has been left very shaken by the incident.
“It was the middle of the afternoon with lots of people around, so we are appealing to anyone who may have any information to please come forward. The man may also have got into a taxi after the robbery, so if any taxi drivers think they may have picked him up, please get in touch.
“We have managed to find CCTV shortly before and after the robbery. Please look closely at the images and contact police if you recognise the man or have any information.”
