Police release CCTV image after sexual assault in Manchester city centre


Police are investigating a sexual assault in Manchester city centre.

At 11:40am on Saturday 26 September 2015, a 23-year-old woman was approached and sexually assaulted by a man on Artillery Street at the rear of Quay Street. He ran off in the direction of Byrom Street and onto Quay Street.

The offender is described as white, of slim build, around 25-years-old and 5’11” tall. He was wearing light blue jeans faded in part and also frayed. A dark blue Nike waterproof jacket and a blue Nike baseball cap.

Police have now released a CCTV image of a person they would like to speak to following the incident.

Police Constable Toni Moreno from North Manchester Division said: “We have viewed CCTV and found an image of the man just before the incident on Saturday 26 September. I would appeal to anyone who saw him or who may recognise him, to call police.

“The victim has been left shocked by what happened but we are determined to find out who is responsible.”
