Beechfield United Under 16’s were involved in the Manchester County FA Youth Cup but they went out of the competition after suffering a 3-1 defeat at home to Old Stretfordians. United’s consolation goal in this 1st Round tie came via Callum Fisher while Bradley Hodges was named Man of the Match.
The recently established Under 14’s team played their first Division 1 match in the Salford and Districts Football League and got off to a winning start. Away to De La Salle Celtic goals by Louis Zammit (2) and Louis Turner (2) secured a 4-2 victory. Man of the Match was Will Timmis.
At home to Old Stretfordians the Under 13’s Tornadoes took the lead through Leighton White but United were guilty of wasting numerous chances. Jeanny Le Blanc, Leighton White and Ademola Alusayno had one-on-ones with the keeper yet failed to score. Some slack play in midfield allowed Old Stretfordians the opportunity to get an equaliser and the teams were level 1-1 at the break. Struggling to find their rhythm in the second half the Tornadoes went 2-1 down and it looked as though Beechy could suffer their first defeat of the season.
But with just seven minutes left to play Jacob Wilson supplied a brilliant pass and Leighton White rounded the keeper for 2-2. Within sixty seconds United regained the lead via Jeanny Le Blanc then in his first game back after breaking his leg last November Ademola Alusayno scored Beechy’s fourth goal. The floodgates had opened and Jeanny Le Blanc fired in goal number five then Leighton White completed his hat trick when he made it 6-2. Cameron Wright and James Pullen were outstanding for the Tornadoes who remain on top of the Division 1 table.
The Under 12’s Tornadoes (9v9) were able to celebrate their first win of the season after a 6-1 away victory over Winton Yellows. The whole team shared the Man of the Match Award and goals for Beechy were scored by Shaun Heywood and Joe Staley who both hit hat tricks.
At home to local rivals Moorside Rangers Red the Under 11’s Storm (9v9) extended their impressive winning run to five games. Beechy are in great form in the Development Group Blue Division won the game thanks to goals from Man of the Match Damion Broughton and Finley Irwin.
Beechy Under 11’s Thunder (9v9) were away to Swinton Junior Panthers and in an evenly balanced first half were guilty of lapses of concentration and found themselves a goal down but creating a positive fightback United equalised via Jake O’Sullivan. Producing a much improved performance in the second half Beechy put pressure on their opponents who at times defended gallantly. Eventually United took the lead with a goal from Christopher Pearson which was the highlight of the second period. Further goals by Harvey Walker, Jake O’Sullivan and Man of the Match Samuel Oludoyi ended a fine display of strength and power.
Earning themselves a creditable draw were the Under 11’s Tornadoes (9v9) who shared eight goals with Manchester Maccabi Vipers. Goalscorers for Beechy in this Division 3 contest were Man of the Match Brandon Wabayi, Joe Mountcastle, Sam Jones and Joe Hope who scored a last minute equaliser.
Ladybridge Leopards were the Under 10’s Storm opponents in the Development Group Green Division. At Beech Farm Man of the Match Harrison Davies, Oliver Lawton Tawonga Chirwa, Josh Everall and Elliott McLurg-Taylor scored the goals for the Storm who enjoyed a resounding victory.
Also involved in a high scoring match were the Under 10’s Tornadoes who’s latest Development Group Red fixture was away to Barr Hill Cubs. Kaiden McLean, Oliver Lomas, Charlie Mulvenna, and Harley Davidson who was also the teams Star Player got the goals.
In the Development Group Yellow Division two goals one a superb lob over the keeper and the other from the penalty spot earned Sonny O’Brien the Under 9’s Typhoon Best Player Award. Beechy were involved in an entertaining and close encounter with De La Salle Devils that ended as a draw.
Despite controlling the first half of their Development Group Purple home game the Under 9’s Hurricanes were level at half time with Moorside Rangers Yellow. In the second period Rangers who had no available substitutes played with great energy. The Hurricanes who remain unbeaten voted hat trick hero Georgi Georgiev as their Man of the Match.
Also in action in Development Group Purple were the Under 9’s Storm who produced a low-par performance against Parkwyddn Predators. Voted the Storm’s Star Player was George Heywood.
Joshua Harris collected the Under 9’s Lightning Man of the Match honour following the Development Group Green home game with Deans Panthers.
The Under 8’s Tornadoes were at home to Swinton Junior Panthers and the match was always a joy to watch as both teams produced some top-class soccer with every player making the game a fantastic spectacle. Jonathan Lowery, Joshua Taylor, Aiden Lawton and Anthony Brophy worked hard throughout the match. Owen Hogben and captain Ellis O’Brien-Walsh made sure Beechy had control of the midfield while keeper Freddie Wardle had another great game. Joshua Taylor, Aiden Lawton and Man of the Match Owen Hogben with his first goal for the team were on target for the Tornadoes.
Away to Barr Hill Hearts the Under 8’s Storm didn’t play to their full potential but still scored three good goals via Player of the Match Grace Belcher and Joshua Kilfoyle.
Playing their first official fixtures of the season were United’s three Under 7’s teams. The Under 7’s Tornadoes made a winning start when they played AFC Monton Tigers at home. Best Player was Harvey Riva and goalscorers for Beechy were Fletcher Jackson, Blake Kerrigan, Harry Jones and Kian Hunter.
The Under 7’s Hurricanes made their debut in the Salford and Districts League against Urmston Town Eagles. There were some very good individual performances and United’s Star Player was Lexi Hiles.
On Sunday morning the Under 7’s Storm were in action at home to South Manchester in the Development Group Green Division. Man of the Match was Ellis Adamson.
