Police probe house shooting on Winton estate in Salford


Police are investigating a house shooting on the Winton estate tonight.

It is understood that a house on Sutherland Street was shot at, causing damage to the front of the property.

No-one has been reported injured.

Officers were called to the residential street, on the new estate near Winton Park at 7.50pm tonight, Friday 3 April.

Residents reported hearing “two really loud bangs” before police were called.

Tactical aid unit officers are on scene and are investigating the local area.

An area of the street has been cordoned off, and residents asked to stay in their homes, while police conduct their inquiries.

No arrests have yet been made.
