CCTV shows one-punch skull fracture attack in Manchester


Police have released CCTV after a man suffered a skull fracture in a horror one-punch attack in Manchester.

Shortly after 3am on Sunday 13 September 2015 a man was walking with his friends on Deansgate, near to the junction of Jacksons Row, when a man who had been walking with his friends, approached him and punched him in the face.

The victim fell to the floor and the offender went back to his friends and fled the scene towards Albert Square.

The man is described as mixed race, about 5ft 10in tall, of slim build, and was wearing a white hooded top and jeans.

Police are investigating and enquiries are ongoing to trace the offender.

Detective Sergeant Mark Astbury of City Centre Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The man suffered two fractures to his skull, a bleed on the brain and a fractured eye socket in this totally unprovoked attack.

“I am keen to speak to the man in the CCTV in connection with this assault and I would urge you to contact police if you recognise him.

“Mindless violence on our streets will not be tolerated and we need your help to keep our city centre a safe place, so if you have any information at all, get in touch.”
