Greater Manchester Police (GMP) is launching its brand new and improved website, complete with new look and features.
The website went live on 1 April 2015 and features a refreshed design, which has been developed to improve navigation and make information easier to find.
A number of new features will also be available, including the option ‘add my community’, which gives users the opportunity to personalise the information they receive depending on where they live or work in Greater Manchester. This will enable them to receive the latest news and social media updates, information on local policing priorities and meetings along with contact details for the local policing teams directly on the GMP homepage.
The feedback section of the website has now been updated to allow users the opportunity to pass on praise and send in their own positive experiences with police as well as the chance to submit any complaints they may have.
The website will now be available in mobile format – complete with all its new features – for those who want to check it out on their mobile devices.
This re-launch is just the start of changes planned for GMP online and further developments are planned to give the public new ways of interacting with the police and accessing our services.
Deputy Chief Constable Ian Hopkins said: “I am thrilled at the launch of our new and improved website.
“Designing the site has been a very detailed and thorough process during which we have listened to feedback from the public on how we can improve the website and tried to put that into action.
“We are always looking at new ways that we can interact with our communities and I hope the new features and layout of the website will not only make it easier to use and see exactly what is happening in each community but also keep the line of communication between the public and police wide open.”
