The scheme gives victims of crime the right to ask for a review where a decision has been made not to prosecute a suspect in cases fitting the specific criteria.
Victims eligible to challenge such decisions will be notified by GMP at the point that a decision not to prosecute is made.
In addition to giving victims a voice, the scheme, which aligns with the policing principles of openness, fairness and accountability, aims to improve victim satisfaction and public confidence as a result of victims feeling more empowered.
