At 11am today there will be a minute’s silence for those killed in Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris.
Salford City Council confirmed their staff would be taking part in the minute’s silence this morning.
129 people have been confirmed killed in a series of co-ordinated attacks on a concert hall, sports stadium and restaurants in the French captial.
Over 350 people were also wounded when militants – suspected to be from Islamic State – set off suicide bombs and fired into crowds attending a variety of events in Paris on Friday.
French President Francoise Hollande announced a state of national emergency, and the country will from today mark three days of national mourning.
Local people in Salford have marked solidarity by adding the French tricoloure flag to their social media profiles, and will join in the minute’s silence at 11am today, Monday 16 November.
Salford City Council has also opened an online Book of Condolence today for anyone wishing to send messages of support to those affected by the Paris attacks.
