Police are appealing for witnesses after a biker from Salford was hurt in an Eccles hit and run.
At around 6.45pm on Wednesday 18 November police were called to Liverpool Road outside the Dog and Partridge pub.
They found a man who is called Wayne, age 65, with injuries to his side.
At around 7.40pm an ambulance arrived, and after being treated at the scene by paramedics the victim was taken to Salford Royal hospital.
Traffic police closed the road in both directions near the junction with Trafford Road.
Local Barbara Bennett, who was nearby at the time of the crash, told how the gentleman was riding along Liverpool Road carrying groceries on his way home from work at Salford precinct when he was hit by the car.
The victim, who was conscious and breathing at the scene, was flung some distance from the bike but appears to have escaped without life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Information on the car is scant but it is believed to be a dark-coloured 4×4.
Update: Eyewitness testimony suggests the car may have been stolen, with police seen chasing a 4×4 along nearby Cromwell Road.
Police investigators searched the scene with torches before clearing debris from the crash.
Liverpool Road has since been re-opened.
Anyone who was in the area at the time is urged to contact Greater Manchester Police.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “At 6.51pm tonight police attended reports of a road traffic collision between a car and a motorbike outside the Dog and Patridge pub in Eccles.
“On arrival at the scene police found an injured male. A car made off from the scene.
“Co-incidentally there was another small accident nearby at around the same time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to find out more about the car.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
It’s now emerged that around an hour earlier a 49-year-old woman was hit by a speeding silver Audi A4 on Langworthy Road.
