Argentina-inspired restaurant group CAU has announced it will open a branch of its steakhouse restaurant at MediaCityUK this December.
CAU MediaCityUK will be located in the Orange Tower overlooking the gardens, next to the new Pret A Manger store, and marks the group’s 16th UK opening to date.
The 3000sq ft restaurant will emulate the cuisine and culture of Buenos Aires and will accomodate 110 covers, CAU confirmed.
Graham Hall, managing director for CAU said: “We’re very excited to be opening at MediaCityUK, as one of the most distinguished creative and digital hubs in the UK; we think CAU’s style of food, design & service fit perfectly with the scheme and its future.”
Mark Robinson, head of asset management for MediaCityUK said: “MediaCityUK continues to evolve and is home to over 250 businesses and thousands of visitors each year, so having a diverse mix of restaurants means there is exciting choice for all.
“CAU is a fabulous brand to have at MediaCityUK, with their menus and quality of food – but it’s the attention to detail and the ethos of making everything fresh on site that really sets them apart from the rest.”
The all-day menu at CAU promises grass-fed Argentinian beef, pork belly twice cooked in a coal-fired oven matched with CAU’s 16 own-brand wines.
CAU is the sister restaurant to the successful Gaucho group which operates 15 restaurants in the United Kingdom.
Launched in 2012 CAU currently comprises 13 sites including Liverpool, Wilmslow, Bristol, Guildford, Cambridge and Amsterdam.
Cheetham & Mortimer were the retail property agents who acted on behalf of MediaCityUK and Insight Retail Consulting Ltd represented CAU.
