Top 5 things to do in Salford this weekend

The weekend is upon us once again so here’s five interesting things to do with the family. As always, if you have a suggestion for next weekend’s list, email newsdesk@salfordonline.com.

Free tickets for Salford City FC v Clitheroe – Moor Lane, Kersal – Saturday 11 April, 3pm

Salford City are still in with a great chance of promotion.

It’s free entry for all at Moor Lane, it is hoped that a big crowd will inspire the players to another victory in the race for the Evo Stik First Division North.

Spring Foraging – Duke’s Drive, Monton – Saturday 11 April, 10am

Always wanted to learn how to pick free food from your local area?

This activity is free but booking is essential. Meet in Dukes Drive car park off Parrin Lane. Please contact Jill on 07872808003 or email jill.tyson@salford.gov.uk to reserve your place.

Salford Red Devils v Leeds Rhinos – AJ Bell Stadium – Sunday 12 April, 1pm

The Red Devils are in great form at the moment and a win on Sunday will move them to just three points off table toppers Leeds.

Sitting outside in the sunshine – Saturday 11 April

There seems to be a lack of organised community events going on in Salford this weekend (remember, you can always email your suggestions for inclusion to newsdesk@salfordonline.com), so why not set up a deckchair and enjoy the rays.

The Met Office say the temperatures will drop to more like 13 degrees, rather than the 19 we’ve enjoyed at the sun’s peak today, but that won’t trouble you hardy Salford folk, will it?

The best times for seeing the sun before it disappears again are between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 11 April. Godspeed.
