Two former Little Hulton primary school sites go up for housing sale

Two vacant former primary school sites in Little Hulton have gone back up for sale by Urban Vision.

Both schools closed and were demolished in 2008 in a merger with the £4.2million rebuild of 379-pupil St Edmunds Primary School on Queen Street.

Each sits in established residential areas.

Joint owners Salford Roman Catholic Diocese and Salford City Council are looking for potential housebuilders to come forward to develop the land.

Each is being offered to buyers on a 250-year lease.

Our Lady and Lancashire Martyrs’ RC Primary School on Wicheaves Crescent, was a mixed gender primary school for ages 3-11.

The 4.1-acre site is mostly cleared and only has playing fields and former tarmaced playground areas left.

Outline planning permission for 51 homes was granted in 2008.

St Joseph’s Primary School on Old Lane was also merged with St Edmunds when it closed in 2008.

Interested parties are invited to bid for each site by Friday 16 January 2016.
