Salford man arrested after £24k cash and jewellery seized in house raid

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Salford after a police raid uncovered £24,000 in cash and large amounts of jewellery.

On Tuesday 8 December officers executed a warrant at a house on Linden Avenue in Salford.

The  37-year-old suspect was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and money laundering.

Police said the discovery of heroin and cocaine in a raid in East Manchester in June had led them to the Salford house.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries until 24 March 2016.

Detective Inspector Liam Boden said: “We initially executed a warrant in the Tameside area in June where £1,500 worth of heroin and cocaine was recovered from an address.

“Our investigation lead us to the discovery in Salford and we have made an arrest. We will not tolerate the use and distribution of controlled drugs and those that do will be targeted and prosecuted.

“I would ask anyone who may know where drugs are being dealt or produced to contact police. The information you supply will be treated in the strictest of confidence.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
