Children at two Salford schools will get the chance of extra music therapy sessions after a local charity was awarded £5,000.
The money from the award will be used to pay specialist teachers to deliver music clinics to 20 Special Educational Needs (SEN) schools, including Springwood Primary in Swinton and New Park High School in Eccles.
The CEDE Foundation uses music and singing in a fun way to improve children’s motor skills, memory, language and stress management.
Up to 1,000 more young people will benefit from this OneFamilyaward, say CEDE.
The charity was nominated for the award by OneFamily customer and charity trustee Bernard Nwaiwu, who said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the award and we want to thank everyone who got behind us and voted.
“These sessions will make such a difference to so many children across Greater Manchester and we can’t thank OneFamily enough for helping to make the project happen.”
