Cllr Jim King, who represents the flooded area of Broughton, is shocked to hear that Env Agency ‘fat cats’ have trousered large bonuses.
As many unpaid volunteers are out helping with the clean-up and delivering food parcels and cleaning materials, senior Environement Agency staff have apparently enjoyed large bonuses.
Cllr Jim King said: ‘It has to be accepted that the EV Agency got some of their flood planning assumptions wrong and to receive bonuses will not be at all welcomed by the 1000 or so constituents who got flooded over the holiday period.’
I’m now calling on the Govt to ‘claw back’ the bonuses and distribute it to the various Flood Recover Appeal Funds across the NW of England.
