Just one team from Beechfield United’s Junior Section were in action during the first weekend of 2016.
On Sunday morning the Under 15’s Predators made a winning start to the New Year in the Tameside Football League following an emphatic 11-1 win over Middleton Boys.
Ignoring the poor weather conditions the Beechy players produced a superb all-round performance and currently the Predators hold a five point lead at the top of the JFC Sports Division.
The result was never in doubt and United who led 5-1 at half time stretched their unbeaten run in the league to eight games.
The goals came via Dylan Durose (3) Dylan Meredith (3) Jamie Pollitt (2) Joseph Lydiate (2) and Man of the Match Oliver Heron.
The other players involved in the match were Robert Boardman, Henry Bonynge, George Davies, Denford Dzvene, Ethan Haynes, Brandon Kent, Kieron McCarthy, Damilola Sanusi and Anjola Onasanya.
