Man suffers heart attack on Eccles street


A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital after suffering a heart attack in Eccles.

Three ambulances were called to Church Street in Eccles at 1.50pm today, Wednesday 6 January, to reports of an elderly man with breathing difficulties.

Passerbys stopped to help the man before emergency medical crews arrived.

A North West Ambulance rapid response vehicle, along with two road ambulances, arrived outside HSBC Bank in the town centre.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene for around 30 minutes.

At 2.30pm he was taken to Salford Royal hospital where his condition is now being assessed.
