GMP appeal to drivers with dashboard cameras


A woman suffered serious head injuries following a collision in Stretford.

The incident happened shortly after 2.30pm on Friday 8 January 2016.

A 44-year-old woman was jogging north along Chester Road in Stretford.

As the woman crossed Chester Road at the junction with Christie Road, she was involved in a collision with a black Ford Focus.

The woman suffered serious head and internal injuries and remains in hospital in a stable condition.

The man driving the car was not injured during the collision.

Sergeant Paul Higgins from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are asking for any witnesses that may have seen this collision, or who were in the area shortly before it happened and may have information that could assist our investigation, to please get in touch.

“Could we also please ask any drivers with dashboard cameras that were in the area to check their footage and please call us if you see anything that may be of assistance to the police.

“Our thoughts are with the woman and her family at this very difficult time and we are conducting enquiries to establish exactly what took place here.”
