Police called the bomb squad to Salford Quays this afternoon after a ‘suspicious package’ was found on a bus.
Officers arrived at The Quays, outside the Sovereign Food & Wine store, at around 4.15pm on Saturday 16 January.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the ‘package’ was discovered to be a bag of clothing.
Army bomb disposal experts were immediately stood down.
Police had cleared the scene by 5.30pm.
