Salford Red Devils have selected Crowe Clark Whitehill as their auditors and business advisers as the Super League side bids to build a better team both on and off the pitch.
The Manchester office of the national audit, tax and advisory firm was selected to play for the club following “trials” by the club for the right advisor.
Red Devils chief executive and owner Marwan Koukash said: “We were keen to appoint advisors who share our ambition for this club, and we could see that Crowe Clark Whitehill are equally ambitious to grow their business in the North West.
“Rugby league is as much as business as a sport and we need to ensure we select the best team not just on match days but throughout the year and at all levels of the club.
“Michael Jayson and his team have been able to react quickly to our requirements and have provided first class support as soon as it was needed.”
Formed in 1873 the club, known as Salford Red Devils from 2014 onwards, has won six Championships and one Challenge Cup.
Since Dr Marwan Koukash took over the club from chairman John Wilkinson in 2013, he has invested heavily with a view to making the club competitive both sporting-wise and commercially in five years.
Michael Jayson, managing partner of Crowe Clark Whitehill in Manchester, said: “As Salford Red Devils prepare on the training pitch for 2016, we are glad to have been brought into the commercial side of the club to provide our expertise.
“We share Salford Red Devils’ commitment to improve and grow and I think it was this synergy that won us this prestigious new contract.”
