Eccles Metrolink suspended after pedestrian hit by tram at Harbour City


Trams on the Eccles to Piccadilly line were halted this evening after a pedestrian was hit by a tram.

The accident happened at around 5.40pm.

Officers at the scene indicated the injuries were minor.

The pedestrian was taken to Salford Royal hospital as a precaution.

The line was suspended entirely for around 45 minutes.

Passengers on the tram were given the option to stay aboard or walk to the nearest tram stop at Salford Quays.

Tickets were being accepted on the 33 and 50 buses.

The Eccles line is still experiencing some slight delays into the evening.
