68-year-old patient with head injury missing from Salford Royal Hospital


Police are growing increasingly concerned for a patient missing from Salford Royal hospital.

David Ellison, 68, was last seen leaving the hospital at 9.20am yesterday, Monday 25 January.

He was being treated for a head injury after a suffering injury in a road accident earlier this month.

He was seen on CCTV walking along Stott Lane onto Eccles Old Road towards Pendleton.

He is described as a being white, slim, around 5ft 5in tall, with short grey hair and a white beard.

He was last seen wearing a flat cap with a blue peak, a blue raincoat, black waterproof trousers and black trainers.

He was still wearing his green NHS pyjamas underneath his coat and carrying an NHS white plastic bag with a dressing gown and other belongings in.

Sergeant Janet Barnard said: “David is known to frequent the New Mills area of High Peak where he is well known and a regular sight.

“Concerns are growing due to the head injury he suffered and his requirement for regular medication.

“If anyone knows of his whereabouts please contact police.”
