A seriously ill little girl from Little Hulton is asking for the community’s help to send Hannah Payton to the Special Olympics in France this summer.
A charity set up in honour of eight-year-old Millie Mae Burgess-Greenwood is helping to fundraise for the 18-year old Swinton swimming star.
Her charity Millie-Mae’s Embarkment is backing Hannah for Special Olympic glory in 2015.
They hope to help raise the £3,000 Hannah needs to join Team GB in Lyon this June.
Millie-Mae’s mum Amy Burgess, dad Mark Greenwood and a whole host of volunteers will be doing a sponsored bag pack at ASDA in Swinton this Saturday 18 April from 10am-6pm.
The tot, who goes to Bridgewater Primary School in Little Hulton, had a kidney transplant at the age of three, and now lives with cerebral palsy after a series of childhood strokes.
Hannah has been swimming since the age of four, and rapidly rose through the ranks to become Salford’s Special Olympics hopeful.
Silver and bronze medals at the Down’s Syndrome European Championships put her on the national team’s radar, and a series of strong performances in the pool means her times have been impossible to ignore.

If she get the money she needs, Hannah will be the only swimmer from the North West to represent Team GB in France.
So why not head along to ASDA on Swinton Hall Road this Saturday and drop a few coins in the tin to put one of the city’s best athletes on the world stage.
