A cyclist is in hospital with a serious head injury after being found in the road in Swinton.
A passerby who was walking down Folly Lane in the early hours of Sunday 31 January spotted the man lying in the middle of the street and called an ambulance.
The man, who was unconscious when paramedics arrived, was treated at the scene before being taken to Salford Royal hospital.
Police were later called to Folly Lane to carry out an accident investigation.
A spokeperson for North West Ambulance Service said: “We were called to Folly Lane at 12.50am on Sunday to a report that a person was unconscious in the road.
“A man in his mid-20s had fallen from his bicycle.
“The hospital called police thinking it may have been a collision.”
Greater Manchester Police confirmed that they believed at this stage that no other vehicles were involved.
No arrests have yet been made.
Any other witnesses are asked to call police on 101 if they have any more information.
