Applications are now open for cash-strapped community groups to take advantage of a Dragons’ Den style fundraising event in Worsley.
Worsley Rotary Club raised a staggering £10,000 from their annual Santa Sledge community event, where volunteers brought joy to families and children across the area with a Christmas float running through 150 local streets.
Now they’re looking to reinvest the funds with local community groups who could benefit from a cash boost.
If you get through the application stage you’ll be asked to present a three to five-minute speech in support of a particular project
A panel of three independent local businesspeople – the Dragons in question – will then decide.
All local groups based in the City of Salford are eligible to apply, up to a maximum of £500.
The is due to take place in May.
Tony Jackson, Community Service Chairman at Worsley Rotary Club said: “Each year we hold a number of fundraising events which enables us to make donations in support of local community groups.
“Following the success of our ‘Dragons Den’ event in April 2015 we plan to hold a further event in the style of the popular Dragons’ Den TV programme.”
The date of this year’s event is Tuesday 3 May 2016. As in previous years the venue will be the Walkden Legion Club, Wilfred Road, Walkden, M28 3AJ.
The event will start at 7 pm.
