Anti skid works planned for half term at Worsley roundabout

Essential safety work at the junction of Leigh Road and Worsley roundabout has been planned for two days in the half term holidays.

The work, to complete anti-skid treatment on the road, will help drivers stop safely if they need to pull up quickly on the approach to the roundabout.

It means off peak closures of the junction of Leigh Road and Worsley Brow with local diversions for two days. Work will run on Monday February 15 and Tuesday February 16 from 9.30am to 3.30pm. The work is being carried out by Urban Vision on behalf of Salford City Council.

Councillor Derek Antrobus executive lead member for strategic planning, said: “Unfortunately this noisy work can’t be done overnight because of nearby residents and work on the M60. We have postponed it until work on the A580 is complete and scheduled it for off peak times during half term when the roads are much quieter to minimise disruption. We apologise to drivers for any inconvenience.”

During the off peak closures, drivers can use the A575/A580 for access to the motorway and Boothstown; local traffic is advised to use the B5232 Ellenbrook Road.
