During the opening quarter-hour Beechy managed to created some attractive football with Chris Ferris operating in midfield heavily involved in several stylish moves.
Both keepers were kept busy and United’s No 1 Jordan Broxson was forced to make a fine one-handed save as Hollinwood found a decent attacking rhythm. On 26 minutes the visitors No7 wasted a great chance to opening the scoring then at the other end of the pitch shots from Craig Massey and Dave Leach drifted wide of the target.
During another period of strong attacking play by Hollinwood Tim Taylor and Anthony Wallis defended superbly and a frustrating first forty five minutes for Beechy ended goalless.
United took the lead in the 54th minute via a great solo goal from Dave Leach then three minutes later thanks to a brilliant finish Man of the Match Tom Carroll made it 2-0.
All three substitutes were introduced with Gary Wallis, Patrick Beckett and Andrzej Browne replacing Chris Ferris, Steve Erskine and Steve Eccles and United gradually dominated the match.
Despite Hollinwood always looking dangerous especially from set-pieces United dealt comfortably with any aerial threats and went 3-0 up on 73 minutes when a move developed down the right flank and Andrzej Browne’s low cross into the area found Dave Leach who turned the ball into the net from close range.
Hollinwood reduced the arrears after 80 minutes but their joy was short-lived because Beechy added a fourth goal courtesy of a header by Mike Leach.
