Bruntwood and Select Property Group have submitted plans for two large towers near the 5* Lowry Hotel in Salford.
The 16 and 33-storey blocks, next to the River Irwell, are slated to house 506 apartments.
If they get planning consent, both will be built on New Bailey Street, on the riverside footpath that links Spinningfields to Blackfriars Street.
The flats are being aimed at the private rental market and according to Bruntwood are “designed for the millennial rental customer who chooses to live with friends and places great value on socialising”.
The project is the two firms’ second joint venture in Greater Manchester.
Their first is the Circle Square scheme on the former BBC site on Oxford Road.
Plans for Affinity Living include large social lounge areas and private dining rooms, a gym and a roof garden on the top floor of the 33-storey block.
Peter Crowther, Property Director at Bruntwood, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Select Property Group again on this exciting project.
“The addition of high-quality residential apartments to our established office and retail campus at Riverside will create a truly vibrant, 24/7 mixed-use community.”
Mark Stott, CEO of Select Property Group, commented: “With a shared vision for customer service excellence, we’re looking forward to working with Bruntwood once more to transform this fantastic riverside location into a residential community which redefines the standards for build-to-rent.”
Subject to planning, work is expected to start on site in October 2016.
