Salford’s very own music superstar Graham Nash will visit the city in May to launch his very own photographic exhibition at Salford Museum and Art Gallery.
Rock legend Graham, who celebrated his 74th birthday earlier this month, is best known for his work with The Hollies, and later in the supergroup Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.
‘My Life Through My Lens’ will run from 23 April to 3 July 2016.
This will be the first time that he has exhibited in Salford and is a major coup for the gallery.
Inspired by his father, Nash began taking pictures at the age of 11.
Prompted by his friend Joni Mitchell, with whom he once lived and who was the inspiration for his song ‘Our House’, Nash began to exhibit his photographs in 1990.
Since then his work has appeared in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries around the world, but the Salford native has never before exhibited in his home city.

Over 50 photographs will be on display to showcase his celebrated talent.
These autobiographical images include self portraits, along with artfully-crafted pictures of friends such as David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, and Johnny Cash who have been part of his long and influential career.
One of his most famous was taken in New York’s Plaza Hotel in 1974.
Nash explained in his book Eye to Eye “We were coming to the end of the Crosby Stills Nash and Young reunion tour and it was crazy, so chaotic. I needed to find an inner peace with myself so I started to fill a book with drawings. I’m drawing in the bathroom here, I saw myself in that little pull out mirror and knew it was a great image.”
Other include a portrait of Neil Young when he was recording After the Gold Rush in 1969.
Graham filmed with SalfordOnline.com back in 2011 when he picked up an Honorary Degree from Salford University, telling us all about growing up in Skinner Street in Ordsall and his love of the city that shaped his early musical career.

He was made OBE in 2010 for services to music and charity.
Graham is touring his first studio album in 14 years: ‘This Path Tonight’, and has agreed to take time out of this hectic schedule to give a special talk to his Salford fans on Monday 23 May 2016, 2pm – 4pm.
