Police are appealing for drivers to come forward after a jogger hit by a car suffered a serious head injury.
At around 6.50pm on Monday 8 March 2016, the 54-year-old man was running north east along Bolton Road towards the junction with the A6 Manchester Road, which runs towards Little Hulton.
As he crossed the carriageway of Manchester Road, he was struck by a Kia Venga travelling south east and suffered a serious head injury.
He was immediately taken to Salford Royal Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The driver of the Kia, a 65-year-old woman, provided negative samples for alcohol and drugs at the roadside. She was not arrested.
PC Andy Benn, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This junction is controlled by traffic lights and there is no suggestion at this stage that the vehicle went through a red light.
“However, as with any serious collision of this nature, it is vitally important that anyone who may have been in the area at the time comes forward.
“If you have a dash camera fitted to your vehicle and were driving on that road near to the time, please check your footage as it may contain a key piece of information.
“If you witnessed the collision, please call police and let us know what you saw.”
