Salford Quays Duck Race returns on Good Friday

The quacktastic Quays Duck Race is back for a third year in Salford to raise money for specialised healthcare equipment for children and babies.

MedEquip4Kids has raised more than £20 million since 1985.

Its popular plastic duck ‘races’, in which anyone can take part, take place from 12.30-4pm on Good Friday 25 March at the Helly Hansen Watersports Centre in Salford Quays.

This afternoon of fun and light-hearted entertainment will culminate at 3pm with the Business Challenge where ‘mega ducks’ sponsored and decorated by local organisations and businesses are pitted against each other, closely followed by the Community Ducklings Race, led by the winner of the schools competition, at 3.30pm.

All the races will be started by CBBC’s Katie Thistleton and there will be stalls, games and entertainment for all the family to enjoy.

Charity mascot Pip will be there with his Minion friend to enjoy the day too.

Ducklings can be purchased at £2 each, either in advance through the MedEquip4Kids website or just by heading down on the day.
