Salford Red Devils have announced they’ll be hosting a spectacular day of youth rugby league in April.
The city’s best amateur players, from age six to ten, will face off in a series of matches on Saturday 9 April, ahead of the Devils’ Super League clash with Leeds Rhinos.
Under 7s to Under 11s will each get their own mini-rugby festival.
These take place at multiple venues across Salford and Trafford from 2pm, including at the at the AJ Bell Stadium, Cadishead Rhinos’ ground, and Trafford’s Wellacre Academy.
All players taking part will then be paraded around the AJ Bell in a half-time lap of honour during the Super League matchup.
Dancers from the Red Devils Dance Academy will also perform as part of the match day entertainment.
Over 100 local children regularly attend sessions and this event will be their chance to shine on the big stage.
After engaging 1,500 people in one day last year, the club’s foundation is now aiming to go even further.
Foundation Director Mark Brocklehurst said: “Sky Try has given our already successful programme an even bigger boost and what better match to showcase local talent than one with the reigning champions.”
