Police chased a van through the streets of Weaste this afternoon after it failed to stop.
Traffic officers attempted to pull over a Ford Transit on Chandos Grove at around 3.40pm.
The van sped away and tried to give police the slip.
Just 200 yards or so away at the corner of Martin Street, the van collided with a parked vehicle, before coming to a halt on Dodd Street.
Officers managed to take two men, age 30 and 36, into custody, Greater Manchester Police said.
One man has now been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving without insurance.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 101.
