Drivers are being warned to expect long delays on the M60 after two lorries and a Range Rover collided near Worsley.
The North West Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene at 11.55am this morning, Monday 21 March.
Two lanes are currently closed anticlockwise between Junction 15 for the Swinton Interchange with the M61 and Junction 13 for the A572 at Worsley.
Fire crews worked to free a lorry driver in his 50s after he was trapped in his cab.
When firefighters successfully pulled the driver from his lorry his injuries were found to be cuts and bruises, and not considered to be serious.
He was taken to Salford Royal hospital as a precaution.
No one else was reported injured.
Police are working to remove the smashed vehicles from the scene but recovery could take some time.
There are delays back to Junction 18 at Simister Island and also delays on the M61 southbound from Junction 2 as traffic tries to merge with the M60.
