Designer glasses stolen in break-in at Specsavers Swinton


Police are warning that thieves stole women’s designer frames from a Swinton opticians.

The burglary happened at around 9.30pm on Sunday 20 March, at the Specsavers branch on the Swinton Square Shopping Centre.

Around 70 frames were taken, including brands Moschino, Karen Millen, Max and Co, Aurora, Osiris, Boss Orange, John Rocha, Tommy Hilfiger, Red or Dead, Replay and fcuk.

One man, whose face was covered, was caught on CCTV climbing over a fence next to B&M Bargains before smashing the bottom glass window on the front door, helping himself to a armfuls of frames.

Store Manager Rachael Jones said: “We do not sell frames without lenses in so any optician they take them to to be glazed will be suspicious.

“All local opticians have been made aware of the break-in and have been advised exactly what has gone missing.”
