In celebration of National Apprenticeship Week 2016, Morson Group held an exciting event to recognise the achievements of their apprentices from across all divisions of the business.
Apprentices from Morson International, Morson Projects and Morson Vital Training joined members of the Morson Executive Board, trainers, assessors and past apprentices for a celebratory lunch and certificate presentation. This event recognised the achievements of the apprentices as well as highlighted the benefits of apprenticeship programmes.
Amongst the apprentices being recognised was Morson Projects apprentice of the Year, 18-year-old Ellis Postlethwaite who is based in the Greengarth Business Centre in Cumbria. Ellis has recently completed his Electrical and Instrumentation Technical Advanced Apprenticeship and will be progressing onto the HNC. Along his apprenticeship journey, Ellis also collected Sellafield Community Hero of the Year award, an accolade which recognised Ellis’s great youth work within the community.
Ellis Postlethwaite, Morson Projects Apprentice of the Year 2015 said: “I have really enjoyed my apprenticeship and would recommend the apprenticeship route to others. I have gained plant and engineering experience whilst gaining qualifications and learning new skills. I am working at the Sellafield site, the largest nuclear site in Europe which is great experience as I am gaining hands-on practical experience and exposure into the industry.”
Morson currently employs over 40 apprentices across a range of sectors including Rail, Finance, Administration, IT, Management and Recruitment. Morson have also invested just under £1 million into apprenticeship programmes which covers the training and salaries of individuals. Morson are proud to have reduced the average completion time for apprenticeship programmes including the Engineering Apprenticeship which has been reduced form 4 years to 2.5 years which means apprentices are then able to progress onto higher level qualifications.
