Police and ambulances were called to an accident in Swinton this morning, Tuesday 29 March, after a lorry and a car collided on the A666 Bolton Road.
A female driver suffered a suspected neck injury in the crash, which happened at around 8.45am.
Traffic officers say the road is currently blocked at the junction with Billy Lane.
A large heavy goods wagon crashed with the back of a Vauxhall Vectra, causing severe damage to the rear end of the smaller vehicle.
The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene but her injuries are not described as serious or life-threatening.
The lorry driver was not reported to be injured.
Police are now waiting for recovery vehicles to arrive to clear the scene.
As of 9.25am the road is open in both directions, but drivers slowing down around the accident are causing some delays.
