Morson Group Apprentices were awarded for their hard work and dedication when they were recognised by Salford City College at their annual Apprenticeship Awards.
The event was held at Salford City College’s FutureSkills at MediaCityUk and was an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of apprentices and employers from across Greater Manchester who are completing their apprenticeships with Salford City College.
Apprentices from across Morson Group picked up accolades during the ceremony. Rail apprentice Daniel Bailey was awarded the Partnership of the Year Award after being recognised for his dedication to his apprenticeship. Daniel regularly volunteers his days off to attend the training centre in Salford in order to support the second cohort of Morson Vital Rail Apprentices. Proving to be a natural born leader, Daniel has also dedication to the Network Rail High Output projects which he is currently working on, sacrificing his evenings and weekends.
Amongst the award winners were also Morson International apprentice Lucy Galbraith who was recognised for showing enthusiasm and dedication to her studies and progressing onto her CIPD qualification; as well as Morson Vital Rail apprentice Ryan Reynolds who has proven to be an outstanding learner who is committed to his apprenticeship programme.
Morson Group received an employer award after they were nominated for the support they offer apprentices and the genuine interest staff have shown in the journey of those that they train. Morson was also recognised as being one of the largest employers in the area, recruiting between 40-50 apprentices at any one point and showing a continued passion and determination.
Matthew Leavis, Morson Group Training Manager, said: “It is brilliant that the Morson Vital Rail apprentices have been recognised for their hard work, dedication and commitment to their apprenticeship and their studies. Our apprentices are now equipped both in knowledge and skills to progress on to very successful rail careers.”
