The University of Salford has been ranked as one of the world’s top 150 ‘young’ universities for the first time ever.
This comes as part of today’s annual publication of a prestigious list produced by Times Higher Education (THE), of which Salford were ranked within the 101-150 category.
The rankings, which refer to the 2014-15 academic year, are based upon the quality of teaching, research and research influence, international outlook of employees, students and research, and industry income and innovation, at universities under 50 years old. Salford excelled most in International Outlook, Industry income, and teaching.
To compile the rankings, THE evaluated hundreds of ‘young’ universities worldwide, of which 25 of the UK’s higher education intuitions made the top 150, the most from any one country represented in the list.
This ranking follows on from the University’s recent references in the THE’s top 10 most improved universities for student experience, and the THE’s top 200 international universities.
Salford has also recently been ranked as one of the world’s top 200 universities for two of its subject areas, Architecture/Built Environment and Civil and Structural Engineering, following the release of latest QS global rankings.
