Police appeal to help find unusual bike-buggy stolen in Manchester

Police are appealing for the public’s help after a special bike with a child’s buggy attached to the front was stolen from the city centre.

On Sunday 3 April 2016 police were called after a very unusual bike-buggy was stolen from Oldham Street in the Northern Quarter.

The bike is a bright red Tata bike which has been designed so a child can sit in a buggy on the front.

The bike buggy was left securely locked but thieves cut through the lock and stole it, leaving the lock behind.

Police are now appealing for anyone who may have seen this very unusual bike buggy to get in touch.

Sergeant Mark Astbury, from GMP’s City Centre Division said: “It takes a certain heartless person to steal a child’s buggy.

“We are sure that someone must have seen the bike-buggy around, something as unusual as this stands out.

“We are trying to trace the thief and are viewing CCTV to try and work out when the bike was stolen and where the thief took it.

“Anyone who may have seen the bike-buggy or know who may have it or be trying to sell it should contact police as soon as possible.”

Police can be contacted on 0161 856 3221, 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
