Police are appealing for witnesses after shots were fired in Wigan.
At around 7:45am on Thursday 14 April 2016, officers were called to an address on Bradley Lane, Standish, Wigan, to reports of damage to a door believed to have been caused by a gunshot.
Officers attended and discovered damage consistent with being caused by a shotgun.
The second incident was reported at around 9:50am on Thursday 14 April 2016, when officers attended an address on Preston Road, Standish, Wigan.
Again, officers found damage to a front door of the address that was consistent with being caused by a gunshot.
It is believed that these two incidents occurred between 10pm and midnight on Wednesday 13 April 2016, when loud bangs were heard.
Detectives are investigating the possibility that a blue Kangoo van that seen driving away from Bradley Lane shortly after the incident and may have been involved. The van was later recovered on Moores Lane in Standish and the van was stolen from Willow Hey in Skelmersdale sometime after 3.00pm, on Wednesday 13 April 2016.
In addition to this, at about 1am on Thursday 14 April residents in the Skelmersdale area reported hearing shots fired on Willow Hey and officers believe this is linked to the two incidents in Standish.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about the shots fired or the stolen van to come forward.
Two men aged 25 and 31 have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences in connection with the two discharges in Standish and they remain in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Martin Reddington of Wigan division said: “I understand residents in Standish and Skelmersdale will be concerned after hearing shots fired and we are doing everything we can to establish what happened and who was involved.
“We do have officers in the areas and I would urge anyone with concerns to come and speak to us.
“If you were in any of the areas at the time of the incidents and saw any suspicious activity we would be interested to speak to you.”
